BAD stomach virus- puking- how longdid it last?
if db had a bad puking virus- i mean 10+ times in a day, how long did it last?

DD has a bad stomach virus last year...it lasted about two days. Hope your DC feels better

the puking was about a day ...... she started about 11pm and it lasted all night and a good part of the next day. after that it took another week or so for her to be 100%

the one we had lasted about 2 days but felt off for a few days longer - it was a pretty strong stomach bug

DS just had one this past week, but he only threw up a couple times (then came the diarrhea) :(
Are you making sure DC sips beverages? He had one last year, and we let him drink a lot after he threw up, thinking that was good, he needed to replace fluids. He threw up so many times that night. The next day when I spoke to his pediatrician, she said just let him sip a small amount of a drink, then put it down for 5 minutes and make sure his stomach is handling it. This seemed to work--it's tedious and hard to do when they are thirsty, but necessary. Also avoid dairy for a few days--this always makes DS hurl again if he has it too soon.

DS just got over a stomach virus. He had non-stop puking for about 1 day, then he would puke 1-2x per day for the next 3 days. I think he was back to 100% by Day 5 or so.

DD#1 had one when she was 18 months and it lasted 10 days (vomiting for 5 then diarrhea and sometimes breaks in vomiting for 24-38 hours). DD#1 and DD#2 had one this past May that lasted 3 days. It really depends on the strain - there are some that last 24 hours and others that can last a week. Either way they are NOT fun. I hope your DC feels better soon

That sounds like a lot. My DD is a huge vomiter when she gets stomach viruses so finally we got a prescription to Zofran. I let her throw up for a while to get the bug out her system but then give her the Zofran. She will only throw up a couple of times after.
Plus don't let them drink ANYTHING right after they throw up. Give their belly a little bit to calm down. Then let them only have a SIP. If they hold it down, another sip and so on. A previous poster said this too and it really works.

DD just had one. Puking lasted about 12 hours. Able to hold food/drink down 24 hrs.

DS had a horrible stomach virus that lasted for 7 days (coming out of both ends  ) . Lots of Pedialyte will help replenish your LO
