HELP! DS has a bad stomach virus
I feel so bad for him, he is so sick.
Last night he was whining and complaining while I was trying to put him to sleep. I didn't think much of it because he's been pulling this lately at bed time. He was saying his stomach hurts, his back hurts, he needs a drink. But I thought these were just ploys to stay up longer. I guess I was wrong.
At 1AM he's calling me and I decide to just let him lay in my bed.. I find him in his crib with throw up EVERYWHERE. So I changed his bedding, cleaned him up and thoughthe would just go back to bed since he looked exhausted.. He threw up 6 more times between 1 and 8 AM.. He was so sad and tired. Most of the times after the first there wasn't much of it.
He is acting pretty normal this morning and afternoon, but he did have a HUGE diarrhea and isn't eating anything, but wants to drink a lot. (Which I'm a bit wary about because of all the throwing up, I have just been giving him a little bit of drink at a time)
Any suggestions as to what he should eat? Drink? Anything I can do to help him feel better?
I didn't call the doc or anything because he doesn't have a fever.
ETA: He's 3

Re: HELP! DS has a bad stomach virus
If he can eat anything, try to make it part of the BRAT diet...and cut dairy out entirely for now.
Also, if he can drink through a straw, try that...it helps
Poor thing, I hope he feels better soon!

Re: HELP! DS has a bad stomach virus
Aww, poor little guy. I would definitely keep him away from milk, which could make the vomiting worse. I would hydrate with Pedialyte (this is what our doc told us a few weeks ago when DD and I had it). And Tylenol for the body aches. As for eating, anything light and don't worry if he doesn't want anything. The fluids are more important. I hope this is the last you see of it!
