Re: Bag, borrow or steal?

I think it's interesting - especially if it's aimed at trying to quell the knock-off industry.

Re: Bag, borrow or steal?

WHY would anyone want to spend 15 a month to BORROW this?

epecially since the bag isn't expensive to begin with

i thought that this kinda thing would have HIGH end bags...

not every day ones

I agree, I would rather have a real designer bag for some time, than just have a knockoff.

it would also be good if you could actually buy if afterwards.

I was shocked to see BcBg bags, the SAK

i mean come on...what IDIOT would pay 15 for a SAK bag?

My friends and I are members and to me it is very good if you do not want to go and purchase a bag that maybe a year or two you may end up giving away or do not care for anymore. For us it is the convenience of wearing deisgner bags for the time being instead of purchasing. IMO, some of these bags are better to borrow than splurging especially when trends are constantly changing.

because when you are holding a bag..

it implies that it is yours...
that you bought it...or someone bought it for you

borrowing a bag...like for example the Chloe bags..

i would feel stupid knowing that it wasn't mine. AND if anyone asked about it i would be mortified saying...i borrowed it

just isn't me..

ASIDE from the fact that 80 a week ...sorry i am not renting a bag for that...

I understand how you feel about it. For me I have no problem letting someone know that it is borrowed. There are certain bags that I know is just for the time being so it is better off to borrow it than buying.IMO

Re: Bag, borrow or steal?

i see your point..

especially if you are looking for the IT bag...which usually ISN"T a year later..

But as i was browsing the bags on that site..
I LOVE the Chloe bags..

if you pay to have it for 6 mos..you should have owned it...

i guess it isn't my thing

Normally, I borrow a bag for when I am tavelling and would like something really chic to take with me.

Re: Bag, borrow or steal?

I think the concept is a good one, but don't think its for me. I wouldn't like the idea of borrowing a used bag. I honestly rather buy it use it for however long and when I don't want it anymore sell it on ebay and get some of my money back. Probably works out to costing you the same if you used the bag for a few months and you got it brand new not used and don't have to worry about returning it.

eta. I also don't believe in leasing cars and it is the same concept. Spending $$ on something that in the end you don't own. Its a wate of money IMO. You shell out $$ and in the end have no bag to show for it.

Re: Bag, borrow or steal?

I would rather just buy it- I was doing some math and it didn't seem worth it to me

you can always resell them on ebay- and I don't buy that many a year- maybe 2 or 3 max

so not for me

Re: Bag, borrow or steal?

It's sort of like leasing though, isn't it? Most people lease a car b/c they get bored with cars and need a change or they can't afford to drive the car they're in Chat Icon (that's just my opinion).

I personally wouldn't "lease" a bag -just like I wouldn't lease a car- but if someone else wants to do it, so be it. I think it's way better than carrying some fakie you bought on the street.
