Baha Mar, Bahamas -- MY REVIEW

DH & I booked the Baha Mar for our 10th Anniversary trip for 4 nights, 5 days (Mon-Fri) last month- just the two of us (our DD stayed home with my parents.

Resort:
The resort is "split" into three separate hotels- Grand Hyatt, SLS & Rosewood. We stayed in the Grand Hyatt Section (which is the "cheapest" option). We heard while there that the SLS is considered the party hotel. They are all connected through the lobby and share the same grounds/pools (except I think SLS has one private pool for only guests staying in that area- I believe it's adults only in that pool.) It's a cashless resort- you charge everything to your room and pay the bill at the end (cash or CC). You can use CCs in the restaurants. The casino is the entire first floor of the entrance to the Grand Hyatt and it's really nice- DH & Both won several times- and were able to pay our bill with the winnings! They don't have a comp system set up yet, but are working to have one within the next few months.

Pools/Beach:
There are 7 pools on the property- all near each other and offering different vibes- one is a large infinity pool, one has a swim up bar, one has a cliff dive, one has chairs in the water for sunbathing...etc. All were great. the beach is gorgeous, chairs were plentiful, you just ask for someone to set up an umbrella for you and it's done immediately. They have free kayaks, paddle boards, snorkel gear for anyone to use. We did kayaking and snorkeling several times- it was awesome. waitress service on the beach was great. It was pricey, but that's expected. Several towel huts on the walk through pools to the beach and you can take what you need, they also have sunscreen and fresh fruity water that I would fill my water bottle from several times a day. Oh and there is a free boat that takes you to Balmoral Island several times a day, which is where you can do swimming with the dolphins and stingrays - we didn't do this as we did it last year on our cruise.

Food:
By the beach, there are 5 or 6 food trucks- converted air streams that each had a different kind of food: Mexican, BBQ, Hot Dogs, Burgers/Patties, Poke Bowls. We tried several of them and they were all good, affordable lunch items.
Restaurants: we went to the Japanese one- it was good- nothing spectacular, but good. Seafood restaurant- very good, great service. Buffet- again, good food, some better than others, great service there too. Mediterranean restaurant- Cleo- I cannot say enough about this one- food was AMAZING. Service was incredible- the staff was super sweet, interacting with us and each other- we felt like we were with friends. We had noted our reservations that we were on our 10 year anniversary trip and we were given several complimentary desserts/drinks at the different restaurants.

Staff: So helpful, so cheerful, so attentive, always available and going above and beyond.

Room: Gorgeous, spacious, the bathroom was straight out of my dreams. Bed was super comfortable and faced our balcony.

So, I have no complaints, except that I can't live there full time. Seriously- GO. Splurge. It wasn't as expensive as I had thought it would be, but not cheap either. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back and we will take DD next time. They have purchased the property next door and the one next to that- the Melia. they are tearing down the property next door and making it a water park (scheduled to open in about 2 years). The Melia is under construction for upgrades.

I hope this is helpful, informative to anyone who is interested- please feel free to ask questions or PM me if you want.

Baha Mar, Bahamas -- MY REVIEW

Thanks for the review, we’re thinking of booking the grand Hyatt section for a birthday getaway next month. Flights are crazy expensive tho.
