Bakeries that make shaped or themed birthday cakes
I am looking for a bakery in Suffolk County that makes shaped or themed birthday cakes. My DS's 1st birthday theme is Dr. Seuss so I want either a cake in the shape if a hat or a cake with a picture of something Dr. Seuss on it. So far I called Stanley's bakery and they do not do shapes, just a picture, and I called Alpine but it was very expensive. They said it would be $125 for a cake that feeds only 35 people.
Any recommendations?

I have used them for regular cakes, I actually did not know they were the same comapny because I would have sworn by benherts. The cakes are good, I have never had a problem with an order. Let me know how the pricing is for a shaped cake, I was curious too.

Can't help with the bakeries, but have you checked out this website? They have some cool ideas you could give pics of to the bakery.

I just called and the decorator is not in so they cannot give me a price on shaped cakes until tomorrow. They said for a 1/2 sheet cake with a scanned picture on it it would be $65 and it feeds 50 people. A full sheet is $100 and feed over 100 hundred people.

I will tell you I am getting a pretty custom cake from a woman in farmingdale, and her prices were really good, especially considering what I wanted. If you are interested I'll give you the website, I got her number from Diane on here. FOr me it's worth driving in there to get a really cool cake.

Black Forest Bakery on Wellwood Ave in Lindenhurst makes great cakes too. I had an Elmo made for Jake's 1st birthday - the cake was huge and it was $100. It was awesome though,..
