Bamboo flooring is down
The bamboo flooring is installed in my office. I got the Teragren brand, since they have no formaldehyde, and the bamboo is sustainably grown and harvested.
That is some strong stuff! The contractor was commenting on it, even.  Image Attachment(s):

Thanks. I was contemplating getting the flat grain (like this is), or the vertical version. With the vertical grain, you don't really notice that it's bamboo. With the flat grain, it's immediately obvious that it's bamboo. I figured, if I'm going to get bamboo flooring, I may as well advertise it....

I didn't realize it comes in different grains. Ours must be vertical, because it looks a lot different than yours. Love the flat grain!

The flooring is basically the same price per sq ft as other hardwoods that aren't "green". My contractor quoted me a line item for oak flooring, and never changed the cost when I told him I wanted the bamboo, so I'm figuring it's right in line with good quality oak.

There's actually 3 different grain patterns:
Flat Grain:
(You can see the "knuckles" of the bamboo)
Vertical Grain:
Strand bamboo:
There are also color variations. They actually cook the bamboo to make it darker. Unfortunately, that takes away some of the hardness. The lightest color is the strongest.
