Baptism Present Ideas
Hi All,
I am not a parent and this is the first baptism I have been to in ages, what were some of the favorite presents you received for your child's baptism/christening? I really have no clue. Do most people go the religious route with gifts? Do people still do savings bonds? Or did you get alot of general gifts (toys, clothing)? OY! Please help (this is for my soon to be born nephew or niece)! The baptism is on Dec 27th, so he/she will also be getting some Christmas presents to boot.

I have always given a monetary gift. I also received monetary gifts for DD's Baptisim. HTH

We mostly got checks or bonds.
If people give a gift it is something like a nice frame, not so much toys or clothing.
For good friends I like to give a Tiffany bank or rattle.

Perfect - thanks! I wasn't sure if baptisms were more of an actual gift or money as a gift type occasion. It is in CO, so that is one less thing to lug there!

I would just give Money. I personally prefer a check over a savings bond. I hear the intrest rate on them is pretty bad. I rather put the money in the bank to gain interest. The only presents I got where from family which where Jewlery and toys.

My sister bought us a gift certificate to SafeTswim because she knew I wanted to bring DS in the fall! That was a great gift. We mostly received money though.
