Bar hopping/strips of bars on Long Island
Can anybody think of any towns in Long Island that would be good to go bar hopping in (like long beach, ect). I am trying to plan a bachelorette party on the island and want to rent a house near the beach for the weekend but I'm clueless on the night scene. Thanks!

Huntington village and after the bars you can hit up little Vincents pizza. Yummmmm

If you can find a spot to rent, Ocean Beach in Fire Island would be a cool spot for what you're mentioning.

I refuse to go back to the nutty Irishman since the last time I was there a kid I used to babysit for tried to buy me a drink. It made me feel so old!

I was going to suggest Huntington Village as well! I guess Also Long Beach as well!
ETA: Oh yeah - I forgot about RVC and Nautical Miles as well!

Also Rockville centre by the train station has a lot of bars and it's super convenient since you're right by the train.

I was going to say Patchogue too..You can go out to eat at many of the great restaurants and then go to the many bars they have or wind up at the Emporium.

If you are looking to rent a house by the beach, I would suggest Long Beach or Ocean Beach on Fire Island - they both have good nightlife and great beaches.

I think it also depends what type of crowd you are looking for. There are some areas (or specific parts of areas) I actively avoid because even at 27, I feel ancient in the bars.
What about Greenport?
