My basement is unfinished and we have the small windows up high in. The previous owners had placemats tacked over them as curtains!!
I quickly changed that out - bought tension rods and regular window valances that are actually the perfect length to cover my basement windows completely. It's worked so well that whenever we do finish the basement, I will probably do the same thing!
