Is it worth it to splurge on window treatments?
So far (and I have looked everywhere) the only window treatments that I love come from Pottery Barn. It's going to cost a lot...but window treatments are something that you keep forever (or at least a long time) right?? Is it worth it??

Yes I think so. For pottery barn treatments check ebay...they are frequently selling them there for cheaper than PB.

I think it's worth it, they make a big difference in the room IMO. I bought silk curtains from PB for my living room and I LOVE them! I dont regret spending the extra $.
I wouldn't buy their most expensive curtains either though because you may get bored after awhile so Id suggest finding something in between.

Definitely- they change everything.
I've been searching for a month for new treatments for the bedrooms and can't find anything! As soon as I do, I'll pay whatever it takes.

Re: Is it worth it to splurge on window treatments?
IMO I wouldn't spend crazy money on treatments b/c I think if you search around you can find moderatly to cheaper treatments that are just as nice. JMO b/c I have alot of windows! I also like to change things up every now and then so spending crazy $$$ just doesn't make sense.

no you're not - I bought mine at BBB with coupons and I'm very happy. I fully expect to change them within 5 years, so I wasn't into spending a lot for them

Re: Is it worth it to splurge on window treatments?
I bought the silk dupioni curtains from BBB - they are almost identical to PB's silk dupioni panels and they were less $$.
I still don't have curtains in my bedroom because I haven't found anything I love enough to make me not care about the cost, although the blinds I have up are really starting to bug me.

Re: Is it worth it to splurge on window treatments?
I'm having the same dilemma right now. The only window treatments that I love and match perfectly are from PB. I might splurge on certain rooms (living room/dining room) and go for something more inexpensive for the bedrooms.

Re: Is it worth it to splurge on window treatments?
I think it depends on if you get sick of thinjgs quickly or not. Sometimes I feel like even the cheap ones can get expensive!! I think I will wind up with moderatley priced window treatments because I get sick of stuff very quickly. I also like to change curtains and bedding for fall and spring.

Re: Is it worth it to splurge on window treatments?
I am always conflicted about this. My aunt's advice is always to pend your money on your windows and floor... but sometimes I get bored. So, I actually made some of my curtains. I spent about $200 on the fabric and rods, but you can always watch sales and find a good deal on fabric. I also used toile and had to worry about the direction of the pattern. ... very little sewing and pretty quick. Let me know if you are interested... I can give you more details about how I did it. Good luck!

Re: Is it worth it to splurge on window treatments?
I had the same conflict and just last week ordered the ones I liked from Pottery Barn - but in a neutral color so they would be versatile enough with the room. Unfortunately, I think it's something you kind of have to spend a little $$ on b/c it shows if you don't.
But, I will say - I got the roman shades from Pottery Barn and the rods from Target - so I saved there!
