Re: Bassinett to crib??
I just started and luckily it was a very easy transition. I started by putting him in there for his naps....after a few weeks of that, I started with nighttime and it has definately gone a lot better than I had expected

Re: Bassinett to crib??
Easy????? Did he fuss or cry at all?? I try to put them in here and there for their naps but they never sleep very long. They nap longer in their bouncy seats then in the crib. My daughter uses a binky, so when that falls out she starts fussing, and eventually wakes herself up. Its so easy right now to have her next to me in the bassinet and just pop it back in, we get more sleep that way! I know this is the totally wrong way to think of this, they have to start sleeping in the cribs or it will just get harder and harder for them to adjust. I know I am half of the problem.

Re: Bassinett to crib??
I was the exact same way!!!! I was BFing in the middle of the night so it was soooooo much easier (in the bassinett). When I put him in the crib for naps he would definately fuss at first but now he doesn't as much (but sometimes he still does a lot). He definately sleeps a lot longer in the swing but I want him to get used to the crib. At night, I use the miracle blanket so I kind of let him start to fall asleep on me after eating and then I wrap him. I then put him right in it and he's stays good for awhile. I've stopped feeding him in the middle of the night, instead if he fusses, I use the pacifier. Sometimes I get up once, and sometimes 3 times and sometimes not at all, I never know but it's usually not for very long. Last night though was another story ......we were out with my 3 yr old nephew yesterday and Logan slept most of the day in the stroller. Last night he got up at 4 and screamed for about 15 minutes (tried the CIO but I couldn't take it anymore). I held him for a few minutes, put him back in the crib and he fell asleep.

Re: Bassinett to crib??
Are they still swaddled at night? Hayley has been sleeping in her crib since she was 1 month old (she was in NICU for 2 weeks and then once she came home she slept in her swing or in my arms for almost 2 weeks. I finally put her in her crib swaddled and she slept). I use the Swaddle Me at night and she sleeps thru the night.

Re: Bassinett to crib??
No, they aren't swaddled. See, I knew I should have been using the crib all along. I was BFing to in the beginning so it was easier to have them near me, now I can't seem to let them go in their cribs. They fuss, and wake each other up, its lovely.

Re: Bassinett to crib??
I didn't BF so maybe that is why I was ok with her in her crib. Try getting the swaddle me (or if you can swaddle them good with a blanket try that. Hayley used to break out of the blanket). I put her in it and she doesn't get up til the morning.

Well, I do know what you are going through. They always wake eachother up. But, I have their crib in my room. Do you have a mobile? My girls LOVE their mobile & it usually puts them out.
They have this one: It's funny looking but they are mesmorized by it. And when they are awake it makes them laugh.

They have mobiles, and they do like them. (Although I really like the one you have with the bright colors!) My son loves the music, but everytime it runs out (which seems rather quick!) he gets annoyed!

Re: Bassinett to crib??
I need tips, as well. In a week is going to be time for Nicholas to start sleeping on his crib and I don't want to. I understand, it's SO comfortable having him by my side during the nights on his bassinet.
I have try the naps on the crib but he wakes up immediatly after I put him there, so at the end he takes his naps on my arms.

This is what happens with us, I know that I should probably let them fuss and cry themselves to sleep, especially when I know that they are sooooo tired. But -I just feel so bad hearing them cry. They are such good babies and to hear them cry over sleeping just breaks my heart!

I think the music lasts for 15 min. (it might be longer)

Re: Bassinett to crib??
One of my boys has the same mobile, and it lasts for 15 minutes. The other mobile we hve fro my other son, has a remote and it is good becuase we can turn it back on from the hallway, so he doesn't see us. I beleive the one Tracy posted, you can buy with or without the remote too.
