bassinett vs. crib...
Ok.... Ryans hated his bassinett since day 1... so hes slept in his carrier in his bassinett.... I know this was a bad habit, but this is how he slept best...
Ive been thinking of moving him into his crib, in his room.... Im so nervous having him in a seperate room, and who know how easy it will be to break him out of his carrier...
At what age did you make the transition????
Also moms with the angelcare alarm...whats the cost and where can i buy it???

Re: bassinett vs. crib...
Well Sammy always loved his bassinet and he did fine with the transition into his crib. I think I waited until he couldnt fit into the bassinet anymore (LOL) about months. I started off with naps in the crib and then at night i slept in his room for the first week on a cot to be sure he was ok. He of course was fine - its us that are having the hard time. You will see as Ryan gets older you will not be as nervous. Its the first year thats the most nerve racking. If you have any questions you can always FM me. - Shari

Re: bassinett vs. crib...
I couldn't sleep a wink with Alex's grunting so we transitioned her to her crib at 3 weeks... I had been putting her in her crib for naps before that, and when we put her in for the night we used a sleep positioner so it wasn't so big and expansive. The video monitor helps A LOT. I keep the monitor next to me at night and whenever I wake up (which is every 30 minutes ) I look over to make sure she's ok... she did fine and has been sleeping in her crib at night ever since

Re: bassinett vs. crib...
Emily slept in her crib in the beginning (we didn't even use a bassinett) but we were getting no sleep because the minute we put her down she'd be uagain.
So we tried he bouncer and she sleeps great in it. The only problem is that I'd like to break her of that habit also -- and start using the crib again, but I'm terrified of her being like she was when she was first home -- waking up every time we put her in it. I do try it frm time to time in the afternoon now and it's about 50/50.

Re: bassinett vs. crib...
Katherine just slept her first night in her crib in her own room on Saturday...she's 12 weeks today. She was sleeping in the bassinet in my room before that, but I wanted to put her in her own room a week before I went back to work; plus, she was getting too big for it. I think she transitioned better than I did. I was like, "My little girl is getting so big!" Anyhow, I use the regular monitor and all has been fine.
Good luck

Re: bassinett vs. crib...
We put Jesse in his crib when he was two months old because he was too big for the bassinett. As everyone says, it was harder on us than on him, but he adapted in only two or three nights.
Maybe you can try putting his carrier in the crib, just like you do with the bassinett, and then after a few days try to move him out of the carrier.
We have the Angelcare - it's from BRU.
