Bathroom lighting help needed!
The medicine cabinet mirror we like is surface mount only, so now I have to find a light fixture that will stick out off the wall far enough to not be blocked by the mirror.
While Lowe's has a lot online, they don't seem to have anything in store and I really need to SEE it to make sure that it will work.
Any suggestions for where to look - outside of Home Depot and Lowe's - would be greatly appreciated!

An option would be to take a sconce that you like, and build it out a bit with some wood. That way, you could have it exactly the depth you want, and if you paint the wood the same color as the walls, it would blend in.

Thanks... I said that to my husband though and he wasn't a fan - prefers a much cleaner look.
I really need to find stores with a bigger selection - even before realizing this could be a concern I still hadn't seen anything I liked!

Re: Bathroom lighting help needed!
you could try specialty lighting stores - N&S Lighting in Huntington is one I know of off the top of my head.
I think there's also a huge one in Glen Cove or Carle Place. Damn, I can't think of the name.

some websites may give very specific dimensions... so you might be able to get away with buying online... my favorite site is lighting.com......

No problem! It's too bad Home Expo went out of business.
With the specialty lighting stores - just go and write down model #s and manufacturers and then you can shop online for the best prices.
I think Blackman's Plumbing has vanity lights too.
