Bathtub question...
I decided to get a bigger bathtub instead of the bath seat (a parent I work with gave me a BRU gift card for Xmas...) I figured it would allow him to move around more since he likes to "swim" - but he was slipping so much in it because he wasn't used to it, and he slipped a little under the water and got scared and started crying. I felt so awful because he loves his bath normally and was having fun until that happened!
I took him out immediately to calm him down (soaking wet against me...)
I will go back to his smaller tub since he is used to it, but what should I do? Should I wait until he feels more stable and try that tub again, or buy the bath seat after all?

Re: Bathtub question...
Either way will be an adjustment, so I'd say give the one you have another try. He'll get hte hang of it

OK... I wanted to cry when I saw him flail every 2 seconds to balance himself, then be ok, play and splash and flail again - and then he was reaching for a toy, slipped, and his face literally just grazed the water, but it was enough to scare him and make him cough

aww poor Cailen
I use the inflatable tub. It gives her room to move around - but not too much room. Plus I feel it reduces chance of injury since if she slips she's surrounded by an inflatable tub vs. a porcelan tub.

Re: Bathtub question...
My suggestion is to put less water in it next time. We just bathe Ava in the big tub and have for a long time, but I remember the same thing happening to her when we first transitioned, and it was definitely from there being too much water in the tub.

I also bathe mikayla in the big tub..she tries to swim and stand up so sometimes she does get water in her face, she hates that

I was actually thinking it was because there was more water in the tub.... I'll put less in it next time... He is such a rambunctious little boy!

Re: Bathtub question...
DS started crawling out of his baby tub so we just put him in the regular tub now. I got one of the non-slip mats. I dont put that much water in...I only put enough that it covers his legs.

Thats what we used after DD grew out of her infant one. The big inflatable one that looks like a duck.
