bay vs bow windows?
What's the difference? they look the same to me.

SweetestOfPeas posted a good link. Bay is 3 windows, bow is more than 3. I'm partial to bay windows, but bows look very nice as well.

Also, a bow window is curved while the bay window has angles where the windows meet. A bay window usually has a large window in the middle that doesn't open and two smaller windows on the side that are double hung or crank open. The bow window usually has all the same size windows and they all open.

Actually we have a bow where the middle two windows don't open, only the outer two do.

Bays can also have the center window open.
If you get a bay with shallow angles, it almost seems more curved than angled. A bow with few windows (4) and sharp angles will appear angular more than curved.
