BBB White glove delivery? Updated!
Has anyone ordered furniture from Buy Buy Baby or Bed Bath and beyond? If so, did the white glove delivery service come with assembly? They are saying no though they allegedly said it would assembled at the time of purchase. Since these were gifts I'm not really sure what to do....

Dressers and nightstands are already assembled. We paid extra for crib assembly.

Can I ask how? The only option I see is plain white glove delivery- no curbside, no white glove plus assembly.... The dresser was already assembled but the crib and hutch were not.

BBB White glove delivery?
I had white glove delivery but for a glider and ottoman so obviously put together already BUT I had so much trouble getting in touch with their customer service to get the Certification of Insurance that my apartment building needed. I called and emailed and after getting one call back for more information, they never followed through and I got lucky that the doorman let them come up even without providing insurance. So while I'd suggest speaking to someone about this in their customer service, I can't say that they were very helpful.

I got through okay- mostly because it was a different number than just BBB. But they say white glove delivery does not include assembly. Assembly is an extra charge and it is not offered through the website. They expect everyone to call and have it manually added to your order even though there's no note of that in the delivery options. I complained and the woman said it happens so often that they are in the process of changing their options on the website. It's so stupid though!
ETA: it's not a big deal for us to assemble it I just feel like it's such a rip off! They don't offer store pick up or curbside delivery, white glove delivery is the only option and is $125 per item and assembly is an additional $130 per item. that's insane!

Wow, that's a lot---I agree. I wonder if BRU is the same? I just looked at we had to pay $75 for the glider and ottoman to be delivered via white glove. I actually think we may have been able to pick it up from the store but that would have been pretty impossible without a car.

We just ordered all the furniture and had them hold it until baby was born (jewish). We scheduled delivery and told them we wanted the guys to assemble the crib on delivery and we paid extra. It really wasn't complicated or a big deal. Have you spoken to the furniture manager in the store? It's pretty standard.

No idea about BRU. We did get our recliner from them but it was just regular truck delivery which was $50. It just pisses me off that there's no note anywhere on the order page or in any of the confirmations that say assembly isn't included and that you need to call to add it on. They seriously need to fix their website.

That does not sound familiar at all. We paid a flat fee for delivery of up to I think 5 pieces? Then maybe an extra $75? For crib assembly. The hutch was assembled but the attached it to the dresser for us.
I did store pickup for the smaller pieces that were over the 5 piece max. Crib mattress, toddler rails and full size conversion kit and nightstand
I had the crib, dresser, hutch, 5 drawer chest and chair/ottoman delivered.

I just think it should be an option when placing the order, not to be added on after the fact with no note of it anywhere. Honestly, these were gifts and the people who ordered them were very upset about it- more so than I am. DH and I are just going to assemble it ourselves. I spoke to BBB and they asked if we wanted to add it on and have them come back but it's just silly. It should definitely be more clear on their site.

Definitely not a flat fee for everything- it was $125 per piece for white glove delivery, that included the dresser, hutch, crib, and nightstand. The dresser and nightstand were the only things fully assembled upon delivery. Everything else is in pieces.

Oof. If I bought someone a gift and paid $125 for delivery and thought that they would put it together, I'd be pissed too!

$125 for assembly of EACH item? That doesn't sound right. I know things changed from when DS was born (3+ years ago) to when DD was born (9+ months ago). I can't imagine it's changed again since then.
Ten months ago it was $125 for assembly of everything, which in my case was 2 items (crib and hutch). Dresser and ottoman/glider didn't need assembling. The hutch arrived damaged but they assembled it and let us keep it. 16 weeks later the new one was delivered, assembled and the old one taken away for no extra charge. I'm positive we only paid $125 for assembly of everything.

BBB White glove delivery?
$125 each for assembly is nuts! We just ordered our crib & dresser through BBB and paid $60 for delivery and I think $75 for assembly. I know those are the two numbers, but they might be reversed. I would complain about that in general!

$125 each DIDN'T include assembly! Our moms split the furniture- my mom ordered the hutch, nightstand, and a changing table (though from elsewhere) and MIL ordered the crib and dresser. Each paid for $125 shipping per item and only the nightstand and dresser already came assembled. The hutch and the crib need to be assembled and they wanted an additional $130 for each. It's insane!
But I had them send me the e-mail confirmations and it's clear as day that they were charged the $125 for each item.

Oh boyyyy I'm furious!!! DH went to put the crib and hutch together and a piece is missing from each!!! the back piece of the hutch and the stabilizer bar for the flipping crib!!! You would think the stabilizer bar sounds pretty damn important!!! Argh I'm at work now so I can't call and flip til I get home.

That's BAD! They better remedy the whole situation and fast!! You know they are going to blame the manufacturer but they are the ones that sold it. So is it still in pieces because you can't finish putting it all together? I'd be so mad after all that.

Yup! The hutch just needs the back panel added on so at least it's all ready to go except for that- the crib is in pieces all over the baby's room.
I called on Friday and they were super apologetic said they'd call the manufacturer and get the pieces out to me right away. They said they'd call back with a tracking number and NEVER did. So I have to call AGAIN today.
ETA: Just called again- they said they reached out to the manufacturer and still have no response. They are going to try again today and follow up with me. This is such bullsh!t!

So after 11 days, 3 phone calls, and 5 e-mails from me they finally gave me a tracking number and the pieces were actually delivered today! I *think* I now have everything for the nursery- including curtains and all that fun stuff so we'll be able to finish it this weekend!! I'm so excited! Finally- I'll only be 36 weeks along.

What a mess but glad you finally got it straightened out. That stuff frustrates me so much. Can they offer you anything for your pain and suffering? Maybe even a 20% coupon??

You bet I'm going to write a complaint. Though I do have 20% off coupons coming out my ears! I keep using them and they just keep sending them! Not that I'm complaining or anything lol!

BBB White glove delivery? Updated!
Wow, that is ridiculous! I am sorry you had to go through such a hassle! We bought our nursery furniture from there 4 years ago and only had to pay $25 for them to assemble the crib. The dresser came already assembled obviously. What a rip off!
