BBQ food suggestions!
We're having a 4th of July party and I'm trying to plan my menu. We're starting at 1:00, so we plan on serving food twice. For anyone who gets there on the early side, we'll have out heros and salads. A little later on (closer to dinner time) we are going to the hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, and all the side dishes. Then we'll have dessert.
Throughout the day I want to have snacks out. I usually do chips and dip and veggie platters. What else can I do? My biggest concern is the heat. At our last July 4th party it was well over 90 degrees. Most foods won't stay out too nicely in heat like that. If you went to a party that served two meals, would just chips, dips, and veggies to pick suffice in between meals?

well i think chips and dip and veggies would be good enough but I have a couple of suggestions:
-fruit platter
-or fruit salad
-bean salad
-trail mix/mixed nuts

chips & salsa
Hummus/Greek layer dip with pita chips
Bruschetta on toasted baguettes
I make Cocktail franks in a beer/brown sugar/ketchup sauce
