BC question because I'm a dummy
My 21 year old daughter is home from college because her classes are online. She is on the pill, as am I. I have been picking up her refills, along with mine, and keeping them in my drawer in my room. We each get three months at a time, and I started keeping hers after one incident where she misplaced them and we were frantically looking for them.
So, maybe you can see where this is going. I went to start a new pill pack. Inadvertently, I grabbed hers and took them. In my defense, it was dark because my dh was sleeping and I was using my flashlight. I continued taking them for the whole month and didn't realize. Same exact packaging. When my dd went to take her next pack, it was gone well, because I took it. So she is out of pills a month early. Who do I call now to explain all this, the doctor or the pharmacy? I am so mortified at the thought of explaining this to someone.

Could she use yours? You must have an extra if you took hers.

They are not the same pill and I don't think she should switch like that. I am on Junel and she is on Cryselle. They just happen to have the same packaging.

Re: BC question because I'm a dummy
Call the doctor who prescribed them and explain what happened They will need to send over a new prescription to the pharmacy.

BC question because I'm a dummy
She can call the doctor and say she lost a pack.
I get mine 3 months at a time and 2 packs went missing when I moved over the summer. The doctor was able to sent a new script and the pharmacy was able to do an override so the insurance would cover.

BC question because I'm a dummy
Just call the dr and say she lost a pack. They will call it into the pharmacy asap. But going forward, your ADULT daughter really needs to manage he own birth control.

Why????? I'm not the one who took my daughter's BC because at 21 she can't handle it. Wow should be you did a bang up job prepping your kid for adulthood. I bet you the 21 year old adult will not even be the one to call the dr., it will be mommy.
Be as nasty as you want to me. I wasn't nasty in my response. I said going forward her ADULT daughter should handle her own medication. I'm assuming the woman is not mentally or physically disabled...Maybe she is and if so I am sorry for my assumption. I did not call an OP a name like you have called me. I wasn't snarky in my response either, but now I will be. We have a generation of non functioning adults - this is why.
Edited for grammar and to say what kind of person calls a stranger on the internet names???? Grow up.

The OP came on here asking for advice not looking for your unnecessary judgement. On these boards it's the same people that always have to put their two cents in for no reason.

BC question because I'm a dummy
Your daughter can just call her doctor and get a new script for one pack. I lost a pack many years ago when my purse was stolen, and it was no issue at all.

The reason is that she didn't come here looking for advice on parenting, but unsolicited you gave it anyway. And one small aspect of this relationship does not give you the right to judge her daughter as a nonfunctioning adult. At 21 I was a junior in college and still not handling any of my own medical things. I can assure you I grew up to be a highly functioning adult.

I don't think it went missing but instead OP accidently started using the DD BC instead of her own.
