BDTD Moms who have been exposed to fifth's disease while pregnant.
What was the outcome?
Any issues with the baby?

Are you immune to fifths disease? Most people are...your OB would have told you if you werent. That said, I know of two moms that were not immune and were exposed and all was a-ok

So basically this is what happened.
Received a call from preschool today from the Director, that my DS's cheeks were red and blotchy and it could be Fifth's disease. They didn't send him home because by the time the rash comes out he is not contagious.
But she wanted me to know because I am pregnant.
So I called my Doctor, they want me to get bloodwork tomorrow.
My mom picked him up today from school and she is a nurse and she thinks it is Fifth disease.
But even if it is, he is fine and over it and not contagious.
But I need to make sure I don't have it by doing blood work. Plus what I read is it most harmful to pregnant woman during the 1st trimester, I am in my 2nd (25/26 weeks).
Just need to take a deep breath, I am sure everything is fine, I feel the baby kicking and moving all the time. Heck, she wakes me up at night and it takes me hours to get back to sleep.

BDTD Moms who have been exposed to fifth's disease while pregnant.
I was exposed when pregnant with my first son. I called the OB, who checked my bloodwork and told me I was immune to it. No issues. Call tour OB and ask.

I was exposed 2x, not immune and DD was totally fine.

My sister got fifths disease at the same time as her daughter. She had to get an intrauterine blood transfusion 2x because the baby became anemic. She had to travel to the city for the procedure it was scary for a little but her daughter is healthy and happy at 19 months old.
She was told what happened in her case is very rare but can be a result of developing fifths.

I had a blood test to make sure I didnt have it after I was exposed by my nephew. Luckily it came back negative, hope yours does too!
