I've been exposed to fifth's disease
I am only 8 weeks and two days and my SIL called last night to tell me my niece has it. She has been around me and my DC for the whole time she was contagious. I am so worried but since I am out of town there is nothing to do until I get home and can get tested.  Send good thoughts please!

That totally has been going around; my nephew had it a few weeks ago and my niece has it. Just get checked out - do you have any signs of it?
Try not to worry, you might have been lucky and avoided it.

Me too. I have to go to the Doctor on Wednesday and get the slip for blood work.
Don't worry too much. If you show exposure from the blood test, they will just monitor you more closely and make sure the baby isn't anemic when he/she is born.

The only signs are a rash and joint pain-- I always have some joint pain- I am old But seriously, I have to wait until I get home on July 14 to get tested. Great vacation I am having now I tell you. Now I just pray my DC doesn't get it since we share drinks all the time. I really hope I am immune.

I was exposed to it too in the beg of this PG. I had the blood test and found out I am immune to it. I would call your OB and see if you were tested for it with your first PG. Many people are and don't know it.
You may be immune already.

That would be great if my OB hadn't retired! I wish I could call and ask. Maybe I will call my new doc and see if they got my records yet

Aww.....Try not to panic. I have been exposed to it 4 times since I have been pregnant and I am not immune. I have yet to contract it and  is fine!

awww I was exposed to fifths disease also ~ try not to worry ~ (I know it is easier said than done) but there is nothing you can do ~ When you are exposed the person who exposed to you doesnt even know they have it yet ~ they are most contagious two weeks prior to it coming out. But call you ob they will send you for a blood test and might monitor the baby for fluid.
(with a sonogram) (Baby's have a 5% chance on catching it through you so it is very rare) Try not to worry and call your doctor.

awww bummer, try nto to worry you could be immune to it or you might not have goteen it, My Dr. said its usually though close mouth to skin contact.
