I would do it. Receptive and expressive speech are two entirely different things. A child can be delayed in one area and not the other. Good luck

Get her evaluated. If they tell you she's fine, then great. If they tell you she has a delay, well it's earlier that you can work to correct it. I had DD evaluated at 17 months and a month later she was in speech. She is now 21 months and still in speech, and moving it up to 2-3 x per week in September. DD understands everything and says a few random words like go, I do, dada and what sounds like doggie but that's really it (sometimes we get an uh oh). So it is important if her receptive language is there, which it sounds like it is, but speech will help her with expressive language. FM if you have any questions as we are going through this now.

At my dds 16 month apointment she wasnt saying any words and doc said to wait until 18 months b/c there would be a better chance of actually getting the services if she still isnt talking. So we are waiting one more month at this point.
