Because I dont want a baby yet, THATS WHY
I am so sick and tired of people asking me when we are going to have a baby. For God's sake, we have only been married 6 months, cant we enjoy our life together? I just say, "When the time is right, we will", but what I really want to say is:
1. I cant give up Martinis for 9 months just yet
2. I like to smoke cigarettes with my martinis
3. I cringe when my dogs bark at 4 am, I dont think I could take a kid screaming at that hour, and actually have to get my *** out of bed.
4. I love going out on the weekends with my husband to dinner with friends, and with my girlfriends during the week. I dont have the luxury of dropping my baby off at my parents who live 30 miles away.
5. It's none of your damn business.
6. I want a bigger house first.
7. I like buying a 200 dollar bag and shoes when I damn well please.
Anyone else like to add?

For a long time we weren't ready. We took our time getting engaged (4 years), getting married (1 year) and getting pregnant (1 year). We started trying when we were ready, and our schedule. I am with you- I like to drink and go out and have fun... but I gave it up when I was ready. Everyone does things at their own pace.

When we've decided to stop having recreational sex and have decided to have it for a purpose, I'll let you know.
Have you seen my husband? One baby is enough right now.
You mean I dont just have to sit back & wait for a stork?
I'm trying to beat the record of the 62 year old woman that just had a baby.
I had all of my eggs removed & frozen until our country has socialized medicine.
My husband has "issues".
This this could go on & on...

i know EXACTLY what you mean . iactually had to lie to my MIL and I told her that i wasnt trying anymore bc im in my friends wedding in Aug. however the reality is we are TTC and i dont mind being a pregnant bridesmaid

I think people ask personal questions because they don't really know what else to ask. It's something ingrained in our society for some people. When you are single..they ask you....are you looking to meet someone.....when you meet that person...when do you think he's going to propose....after that....when is the wedding....then when are the children coming.....etc.....
When I don't want to answer any questions to anyone that I feel is too personal and is actually none of their business....this is my favorite answer.....
"How would it benefit you to know the answer to this". It works like a charm....each and every time....

People think having a baby is the sole purpose of gettting married WRONG. I don't care how old I am this month I am not ready maybe I will be in 4 months who knows I don't. To make matters worse 2 of my best friends are PG and the other has 2 kids and now the heat is on me again. If have to hear 1 more time "you have to play catch up" I am going to kill someone. I am not in a race or a game this is my life!!!!!!

Yes, and after a year of trying each time someone asks me when we're going to have one or TELLS me that I should be trying ("You are almost 31, you know!") I almost feel like unloading my whole TTC drama on them to make them feel like sh!t.
But usually I just smile and say "It's not the time yet."
