Bed Rest after Transfer
I have my transfer tomorrow!!!
Now I'm just curious about the whole bedrest thing. I know every dr has a different opinion so I was just wondering what you all did.
My first RE had me wheeled out of the transfer in a wheel chair and I was told to lay in the back seat of the car and then strict bedrest the entire day.
My current RE doesn't require any bedrest.
So, I'm just curious.
I'm going to do the day of bedrest again this time. It just makes me feel better.

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
I feel that if you have nothing else to do, definitely take the bed rest. I can't hurt

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
My RE doesn't require it. They tell you to take it easy and stay off your feet for the remainder of that day, but you can go about business as usual the following day. Meaning, you can go back to work and such, but no strenous activity. My husband forced bedrest on me for at least 2 full days after. I rather enjoyed it, because it meant him waiting on me hand and foot!

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
I just had my transfer today. DH was told that I am to be on "princess protocol" today. So I have been lounging on the couch, watching tv, reading a book. No laying in the backseat of the car for me (there's no nooky for two weeks)

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
For my FET I took 3 days off from work, one for the transfer and then the rest of the week just to relax. I liked it...it gave me an excuse to do nothing!

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
I wrote in my notes to take the day of transfer and the next day for bed rest. (probably my own notes though- not necessarily what the nurse may have said) I know they mentioned that we were the queens or princesses during this- and told all of our DHs that on the spot at the orientation class. We aren't allowed to lift anything more than 8-10 pounds during the 2ww, and we were in control of the remote control, that sort of thing GL sweetie! I'm REALLY hoping this is it!!!

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
LI-IVF has no bedrest requirements. The one time I got PG, I went straight from transfer to shopping, dinner and movies. North Shore says two days of total bedrest.
Implantation doesn't occur for at least a few days, so I never really understood the bedrest thing.

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
LIIVF told me no bedrest - you could resume most normal activities, just no heavy lifting or anyting too strenuous.
I spent the day lounging on the couch mostly, just cause I could. But after that I pretty much went back to normal - and here I am waiting for my sono!!
Good Luck!!!!

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
I have read there is no difference in pregnancy rates with bed rest or no bed rest. I did not bed rest and in fact did a two hour drive after my 20 minute rest at my clinic. I leaned my seat way back but that was it.

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
I am planning on taking a day or 2 off after. My boss knows about my situation and I don't want to risk anything - if I have the sick time I am taking it!
Good luck tomorrow!

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
I wasn't required to be on bedrest but I took it easy and relaxed as much as I could after my transfer.

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
LI IVF does not require bedrest. I laid down after the transfer for about 5 minutes. Then I went home and laid down for a little while, went down and had dinner and loaded the dishwasher. I also put some wash in the dryer. So I would say for that day I took it kind of easy and the next day somewhat. I was home and laid down for a while but I was up and making dinner and doing what needed to be done. I would say that overall I did more with this frozen cycle than I did with the fresh and I got pg this time and not the first!

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
First time I took 3 days bed rest and it got me no where. 2nd time I went shopping, ate, vaccumed (believing the whole time it was not going to work) and poof...I was pregnant.

Re: Bed Rest after Transfer
because it was a rainy lazy day the day of my transfer, I slept the whole day. The day after, I ran around and did errands.
