bed rest and hospital stays
So it has been an interesting 2 weeks. DH and I went last Tuesday for our 20 week check up with both the regular OB and high risk OB. Everthing was going great...we even had time to register! We found out what we are having but its a secret and then the dr checked my cervix since it has been short due to a leep procedure. It had gone from a steady 2.9 to 1.7 I was sent to Manhasset where they did a cerclage last Wed and I came home on Sunday only to return on Monday night with stomach pains (They turned out to be nothing thank god) So now I am 21 weeks and on bed rest for the duration of my pregnancy...
So my question is ths...anyone know how to kep from going stir crazy?

Re: bed rest and hospital stays
I was on and off bedrest my entire pregnancy due to a shortened cervix...it is very hard but you will get used to it. In the beginning I did alot of research about baby gear and reading on pregnancy etc. As time went along..dvr, netflix and the internet were my best friend. It is hard because you really should be laying down and there is not much you can comfortably do laying down.
Visitors are key! Take people up on offers to come hang out with you. Those days went the faster. Also toward the end you can start to research baby announcements and get labels ready for those.
hang in there...it is all worth it in the end

I was on bedrest from 32 weeks until delivery (38w6d) with my son.
Computer, movies, crocheting, naps , registry editing, phone calls, etc all kept me relatively sane.
My DH didn't leave for work until 11am (worked until 10pm) but him being home in the mornings helped also.
