Bedtime spinoff
My daughter goes to bed at 10-10:30 and gets up at 6:45-7:30.
Any advice as to how to get her to go to bed sooner without waking up earlier?

Re: Bedtime spinoff
She may need a longer stretch of sleep so just because you put her down earlier does not mean she's going to wake up earlier. There are some nights that Jake is in bed before 7 because he just can't keep his eyes open (his usual bedtime is 7 -7:30) and it doesn't cause him to wake any earlier.
I would try to put her down earlier each night in 1/2 hr increments. If she's normally in bed at 10pm, put her down at 9:30 tonight, then at 9 tomorrow, and so on. Chances are she won't be getting up any earlier.
Depending of course, on how much sleep she is getting throughout the day. Babies need 12 - 15 hrs of sleep total each day. So if she's sleeping only 9 hrs at night - she might be sleeping too much during the day. Something tells me she isn't napping over 6 hrs total during the day though. Remember, sleep begets sleep. So make sure she's getting plenty of long naps in during the day as well and she'll sleep longer at night also. I wouldn't go over a 3 hr nap at a time during the day though.

Re: Bedtime spinoff
I was at a loss for getting Emily to bed earlier. And she was staying up SO late -- like 12:30-1am! She was still sleeping in her bouncer seat, but this week I'm off of work (I am a teacher in Brooklyn) so we did the transition to the crib, and I thinkshe sleeps better in it. Now I can put her to bed earlier (earliest we've tried this week is 9:30pm) and just give her the pacifier and turn on the mobile and she doesn't even cry -- just falls esleep on her own. I also find that she's sleeping sounder thruogh the night.
I don't know where your baby sleeps but she was definately ready for the crib and I'm glad we made the change.
