Beer
1. Has a doctor ever told it's ok to drink beer while pregnant?
2. Do you think it's ok to bring a small baby or child to a brewery.
Thanks for your feedback

Beer
No and no, alcohol isn’t safe during pregnancy and no I wouldn’t bring an infant to a brewery. If I had to go to an event I would either get a sitter or I wouldn’t go

Beer
My kids go to breweries at least 3-4 times a year. We've been taking them since they were babies. The brewery is usually full of kids, and they all run around and play together.

Yes i think its fine. Provided theres something for them to do or other kids going.... They had a beer garden down the block from us 2 summers ago and the kids loved going there... they had games and stuff so it was a family friendly place....

I had a small glass of wine or a spritzer here or there while pregnant. Very little, but I had it. Alcohol in large amounts and consuming it regularly isn't safe. A little bit here or there is ok. But yes, a doctor would never tell you that because of liability of course and also people have no idea what moderation is- so they have to just say a blanket no, none at all.

Beer
My doctor told me it was okay to have a half glass of beer or wine in late pregnancy (I didn't, but she said it was fine) I would never take my kids to a bar, but a brewery I have done several times, its similar to vineyards, games and activities for whole families

No alcohol. There has never been determined a safe limit of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
Yes, I have brought my son to a brewery tour. We went to the Budweiser one in New Hampshire with my ILs. He ate pretzels and drank water. HE had a good time.

alcohol is generally a no no in the first trimester when most of the development occurs, Im not saying drink a lot but if someone is going to have some it's a better option when the pregnancy is further along
crashing, not sure if' its wrong to bring kids to a brewery, I just dont think its a place kids need to be. To me that's is an adult place

Re: Beer
No.
Depends- is the kid going to be a disruption? If not, then I think it's okay. Honestly I'd just want to leave LO home so I could enjoy myself.

Re: Beer
There's a lot of incorrect information out there (and on this board).
There has never been a proven amount of alcohol that's safe for a fetus.
People who say they only drank in the last few weeks of pregnancy? That's when the baby's brain is doing the most rapid growth and formation - so it's actually terribly dangerous to drink then, too.

Beer
Personally I did not have a sip of anything throughout pregnancy even though I would have loved to have a few sips of a nice refreshing beer in the summer lol. To me it wasn’t it though. I could never forgive myself if something went wrong.
I’d prefer not to bring my child to a brewery. However, I would if I had to or other kids were there.

Terribly dangerous. In that case it's amazing my DD survived that 1/2 a glass of wine I had!!

Come on. I'm not trying to fight. I'm simply stating that the brain does the most rapid development in the third trimester. It's a misnomer that it's a "safe" time to drink in pregnancy.

Yeah, I don’t want to get involved in an argument but ITA with NYCgirl. There is no proven safe amount, and babies can be very hurt by even a small amount of alcohol exposure during a sensitive developmental period. My cousin had fetal alcohol syndrome and it’s really serious and completely preventable.
I’m glad your baby is ok, but I think it’s just wrong to say it’s ok to drink while pregnant.

Re: Beer
Yeah I wouldn’t drink on purpose but I’d imagine taking in a tiny amount (a few ounces) here and there late in the pregnancy likely would not do harm... But why bother, why chance it. I accidentally drank a glass of spiked egg nog the other day... I couldn’t even taste the alcohol & thought it was just plain egg nog... oops... I feel bad but what’s done is done.

Beer
i drank wine here and there... and there is a beer garden near me and over the summer we always see children. I fully intend on bringing my 2.5 year old alot this summer for concerts and such
ETA: I asked my dr flat out about wine and he said a glass of red wine occasionally was 100% fine. He did specify red though.
