Began miscarrying at 6 weeks
Hi Ladies, last weekend I found out I was five weeks pregnant, then last night I began to miscarry at 6 weeks :( DH and I went to the ER and it was confirmed via vaginal ultrasound and blood work. I will be seeing my doctor Wednesday for follow up.
My question is, typically how long does the bleeding last and is it ok to use tampons instead of pads? I forgot to ask today. Thank you.

Oh Im so sorry for your loss. I had a D&C after my mc and was told not to use tampons for 2 weeks but Im not sure about your situation.

So sorry
I was told no tampons.. i think bc your body will exspelling clumps, it wont be lile a reg period. Plus tampons r a bit invasive and your body will be going threw a healing process. I had D&C so i bled for about 7-9 days.

Thanks ladies. I have been using tampons, I will have to go to the store tomorrow. I hope I didn't do any additional damage.

So sorry to hear that. The nurses told me no tampons, sex or baths for two weeks to prevent infection.

To answer your question about the bleeding, I started heavy bleeding & cramping on a Sunday, and it lasted for about 6 hours before it started tapering off. I bled on and off (sorry for the TMI, but mostly passing clots) for about 2 weeks.

im so sorry for your loss
from what i was told.. it's recommened to use pads vs. tampons. you should refrain from inserting anything in there due the risks of infection.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I also miscarried naturally and was told not to insert anything because it could cause an infection.
