UPDATED: Back from Doc - Spotting at 5-6 weeks? Am I miscarrying?
I'm so scared I am going to miscarry. I woke up this morning to light pink bleeding. Then I got slight brown spotting. It has stopped bleeding now.
Anyone else have bleeding at 5-6 weeks?
UPDATE: I just got back from the doctor. Everything is normal. They did a sonogram and said everything looked great. She said it is implantation spotting. I said I read that implantation spotting was only 5-10 days after conception and she told me not to believe everything I read on the internet. Apparently 10% of women will experience this type of bleeding.
What a scare! I can say that I am so relieved.

Re: Spotting at 5-6 weeks? Am I miscarrying?
any cramping? i know it is scary, but it is very common to spot
if it was brown, it means it is old blood and lots of women spot while pregnant; especially around the time they would normally have AF
i would call the Dr. and let him know

My biggest advice is to try to remain calm. Call your doctor to make sure.

Re: Spotting at 5-6 weeks? Am I miscarrying?
I called my doctor and spoke to a nurse. The doctor hasn't called me back yet.
I googled this and difference sites say it's not necessarily fatal to have bleeding during your first trimester but not normal either.

Re: Spotting at 5-6 weeks? Am I miscarrying?
i had light pink spotting at 8 weeks with no cramping. I went to the ER at the advice of my DR (the office isnt open on the weekends and this was a Sunday) and everything was fine. I spotted for about 2 weeks and was fine the whole time.

I had my first appointment scheduled today so I'm going to see the doctor later this afternoon. They sounded relieved that the bleeding stopped and it was very light bleeding.

Re: Spotting at 5-6 weeks? Am I miscarrying?
I had exactly what you had around the same time...freaked out...went for an ultra sould...and EVERYTHING WAS OK!!! It is very normal to have spotting in the beginning, so just stay calm, make sure you drink lots of water, because dehydration can cause it...and see your dr this afternoon for reassurance.. Good luck and stay calm...

Re: Spotting at 5-6 weeks? Am I miscarrying?
I had spotting(brown, pink and red) from 6 weeks to about 14 weeks on and off. Try not to worry. They can test your hcg if you want to make sure the levels are rising appropriately

I had spotting at 6 weeks and it was nothing, I freaked out and went to the er....as long as you aren't cramping I wouldn't worry too much!

The same thing happened to me last week and I freaked out, but I drank a ton of water and it helped tremendously! Good luck!

Re: Spotting at 5-6 weeks? Am I miscarrying?
I had it, last pregnancy and this one too.
1st time I had a few instances of bleeding, one severe instance but all was OK. I lost a huge peice of the placenta but luckily it wasn't too close to where the baby was getting the bulk of its nutrition....and baby is 100% fine!!
This time around it was twice so far, light red bleeding, but I"m only 9 weeks. On two seperate days but that was it. There are a few reasons it could happen, your Dr will go over it w/you
