Being observed- need lesson help!
I have my first observation with my new principal in two weeks. He's observing my 8th grade (self contained) social studies class.
I'm teaching a lesson on the rise of big buisness, robber barrons, monopolies, etc.
I want to do some type of fun activity. Something that is kinesthetic, very involved. Any ideas?
Thanks!!

I have no suggestions as I am not familiar with the curriculum, but I wanted to wish you good luck

Re: Being observed- need lesson help!
just brainstorming ( I never taught 8th grade - I was HS):
what about groups: robber barons, trust busters, consumers, workers?
each group has to come up with a pro/con list to monopolies or breaking up monopolies and then present to the class (chart on the board) and then maybe you would look for similarities amongst them?)
your do now can be what is the goal of the board game monopoly
application could be about the government bailing out banks and AIG this year - have a discussion about what happens if big business fails.
