Bella Band - and a little TMI

I'm 11 weeks today. Is it to early for me to need a bella band?

My pants that fit perfectly last week are just so uncomfortable today. DH says he sees a little bump very low - I don't really see a difference, I am about 25-30lbs overweight so to me it's just my chubby belly. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Anyway I brought a bella band to work and I'm thinking about trying it. Is it too early for me to be needing it? I don't think I've gained more than about 2-3 lbs since I got pregnant but I really see a difference in how my clothes fit today. This is killing me because I just lost 25 lbs on weightwatchers and although I stopped losing weight for a good reason, it makes me so upset to be feeling my clothes so tight.

Gladly I can say it's not from constipation from which I've had much welcomed relief over the past week.

I was in maternity pants from 8 weeks on, so no, I don't think it's too soon.

I know your frustration. I had lost a bunch of weight on WW last winter too, and all my pants were snug immediately.

But it's a small price to pay. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Don't be so hard on yourself...I don't think its about gaining weight...I think it is about your body changing in the mid-section region.

I am ten weeks. I have not gained any weight - in fact, as of friday, I had lost a pound from my pre-pregnancy weight. YET - all of my regular size 4 pants and jeans and clothes are tight on me. I only have two pants that still fit me right and they are a size bigger - pants that I wore when I was 10lbs heavier than I am now!

Your body is stretching to get ready for the baby - enjoy it and don't worry

Re: Bella Band - and a little TMI

I am 22 weeks and I have gained only 7 lbs for the whole PG. I am back in my "fat" clothes that I wore 40 lbs ago. It is not the weight, it is how your body is adjusting to the changes.

I had a period at the beginning (6 - 10 weeks) where everything was tight. Then that went away for a bit & then a few weeks later I popped. Throughout that entire time I did not gain a pound until 12 weeks. Chat Icon

I don't think it is too early I was wearing maternity pants around 11 weeks. I had the issue of my pants being tight in the tummy but I had lost weight so it had to be tummy growing.

You should do what is most comfortable.

Re: Bella Band - and a little TMI

We are around the same due date and I feel your pain!!! My belly has changed shape and I need to be comfy. I was also losing weight before the pregnancy and am frustrated with my expanding belly.

I think the part that's really bothering me is that I don't look pregnant yet and I feel like everyone is staring at my expanding belly. I can't wait to actually look pregnant, not just fat.

It's never too early for your belly to grow. I was in maternity clothes at 6 weeks.
