Bellmore LIRR parking

I commute from Bellmore everyday and I'm lucky enough to get a ride. Today I had a morning doctor's app and decided to drive myself thinking I could park in that 12 hour, 9am-9pm parking lot behind what used to be JimmyJack's. I get there at 10:15 and half of it is coned off with 3 cars circling, no spots left and a cop in an SUV watching. WTF?!?! I was depending on that lot. All the others were full. Surprise surprise. And there were cones up and down all the spots on Bedford, not that I would park there. I had to go home and get a ride on a later train. Very annoyed.

I know one lot is being tested as a town of Hempstead resident parking. Anyone know what's going on with the lot I'm talking about? I wish they would create some town of Bellmore parking. Prime LIRR location and schools is why we moved to Bellmore. It aggravates me that others from other towns come and get spots before me.

Something really needs to be done about the LIRR parking lots. Everything is filled up by 7:30 and very inconvenient. For Bellmore, the resident parking section is so small, I doubt that it makes any difference.

I should mention the only reason I get a ride is b/c I'm 8 months pregnant and can't find a spot close enough when I get there at 8:00. When I'm not pregnant I have to park on Oak Street at the north end of Bedford and walk about a 1/2 mile to the platform. It really is a problem. Maybe they should build a garage or something. I would even pay to have a guaranteed spot.

If anyone knows any local meetings, etc. I could attend to bring up this issue I'd love the info. I'll try to search it out myself as well.

I have seen advertisements for a paid spots right outside the Merrick station (you can see it from the train, there are numbered spots).

They have part of bedford closed off from grand to petit, and the back parking lot where the pool hall is and for those stores is also closed off. So all those people are parking in that lot today. They are filming a pilot for fox at Mcbrides so thats why its all messed up.
