Belly Button Popping Out?
Sorry if TMI, my younger sister told me that she wished I didn't tell her this because she has a weak stomach.
DD has an innie/outie (if that makes any sense). Her belly button is not an innie, but it doesn't stick out past her stomach.
She pulled up her shirt to show me that her "Belly button is broke". It is sticking out way past her belly. I freak and call my older sister who has 5 kids to ask her if this happened to her one son since he is the only one who has the same belly button as DD. She said that never happened to him.
I beeped the emergency pager number for my ped and she calls back and tells me to try to push it back in. If it seems like it hurts DD I should take her to the hospital immediately. I try to push it in and DD doesn't cry or wince or anything, so that is good, but I didn't get it all the way back in. My ped told me I should come in tomorrow so she can see it, since DD might have a slight hernia.
So I change her diaper and I try to push it in a little more, I get it almost back to normal. I let her play in her toy room and I tell her not to touch it.
I go to change her outfit to go to my sister's house and her belly button is completely normal... like nothing ever happened to it.
So here's my question... Do I bother taking her to the ped tomorrow? There isn't anything for the dr to look at now.
TIA
ETA: BTW sorry this is so long, I didn't realize when I was typing.

I would still take her - my son has a slight herniated bellybutton and my ped can tell by touching it, not just looking at it.
Definitely go - its worth it for peace of mind.

Re: Belly Button Popping Out?
Since it's not something you have ever discussed with your ped I would definitely make an appointment to have her check it out.
An umbilical hernia is fairly common and Im surprised your ped has never mentioned it to you before. All 3 of my girls were born with one. The twins closed up a long long time ago. But Ariell's is still there but it is not an issue for her at all.

Re: Belly Button Popping Out?
My DD has a herniated umbilical. She's had it since birth and is now 15 months. Ped has been watching it ever since we brought it up to her. She told us they have until they are 2 years old for it to close and then we can opt to have surgery if we want.
But it's nothing serious and causes no harm.
Just talk to you Ped about it.
