Best Disney Travel Agent?

I'm a HUGE disney person and normally book my own trips.. but i'm in the planning for a huge Disney Cruise trip in 2010 for my daughter's bday and want a good reliable agent to help me get some prices.. is it better to go through a disney specific agent? or would I do just as well booking it on my own through travelocity or something.. this is for her 10th bday and I need it to be BIG.. we're doing the panama canal trip..

Re: Best Disney Travel Agent?

All a disney specific agent does is they take an online course with the College of Disney Knowledge and receive a cute little certificate, Mickey Mouse ears graduation cap, and a pin saying they graduated from the college of knowledge. (I am a Disney Specialist)

They have a course book and any information you need they will refer to their course book and/or the specific disney site geared for disney travel agents.

A lot of Disney specific agents spend their days literally in Disney Zone. They'll get updates on whats going on in the parks, any specials going on, any changes, etc...

As for booking a cruise if you want to make it special and it's going to be a big celebration I would go to a Disney Specialist because they will handle all the details. Plus if you are doing a land/sea package they'll be able to assist you in getting everything taken care of.

I like themagicforless.com, but I only used them for one trip. I don't think the agents can do much in terms of deals that you can't find on your won, but they do take the hassle out of it.

I've always just booked directly through WDW on their website and never had any issues. You can add special requests, etc.

Re: Best Disney Travel Agent?

For a cruise, I'd go through a travel agent.
I thin a Disney one would be better for a Disney cruise because they'd know all the little details better than a non-Disney TA (I would assume?)
I can recommend http://magicaltravel.com/ - I know the owners from Disney message boards, and we're actually doing a big group trip through them right now. Kelly is our TA.

HTH and have a great trip!!
