Best FIRST sippy cup?
I was thinking of buying some for DD for Christmas, which are the best to start with?

I bought one for DD too. I got the Dr. Browns one. Haven't used it yet so no recommendation yet.

Re: Best FIRST sippy cup?
we only use gerber. They have the little ones with the handles and the soft spout and my DD loves them.
Honestly, it's trial and error, my DD hated Nuk and Munchkin and only took to the gerber ones.
Now at 18 months she'll use the playtex ones also.

Re: Best FIRST sippy cup?
hands down - tommee tippee. they made a starter sippy that is in between a nipple and sippy top. Its soft silicon but with a sippy opening ... they still have to suck but there is a valve so no spills!

Re: Best FIRST sippy cup?
definitely one with a soft spout like a nuby. DS really didn't like any sippy cup though until he was 10 months old. He now uses the playtex hard spout kind.

Re: Best FIRST sippy cup?
My dd is probably the only weirdo who at 7 months took a sippy with a straw instead of a spout. I tried a few spout ones and she wasn't loving them..DH bought a straw one and she loves it. It's a playtex one..in fact, it's hard to find, so I just bought 5 at toyrus to keep as backups.

Re: Best FIRST sippy cup?
i used the Nuby starter cup
it comes with handles that detach. and a soft bottle spout to get used to the cup, then you switch to the regular soft spout

Re: Best FIRST sippy cup?
At six months I gave DD a sippy with a straw...and she drank from it. So i have been giving her only straw sippy cups since. I did try the Tommee Tippe starter one at 4months and at 5 months I tried the nuby non-straw which she only played with.

tommee tippee!!! :)
ps- karin, do you have the one with handles for 6+? because that's the one logan's currently using and it makes a weird noise when he sucks from it???

we have 2 - one is for 4+ months with handles, a harder sippy top with a little dot hole. we havent used that one yet (i think thats what you are describing?)
we also have one that looks like a regular tommee tippe bottle (but darker blue) and it has the same ring but a different nipple. still silicon but a more "sippy" top. you can put the handle from the other one on this one.
not sure about the noise
