Best forward facing baby carrier?
I have the ERGO but my DD really wants to face outward. Also, I have a bulging disc in my lower back and believe it or not the ERGO irritates it. Any suggestions for a carrier that will allow DD to face out?

Best forward facing baby carrier?
I'm pretty sure the ones that forward face are not recommended bc the babies dangle and it is not safe for their hips and leg development.

This is correct. It is also dangerous for the development of their spine, as it forces it into an unnatural curve. Maybe you could try carrying her on your back so she can face forward with you?

This is what I was going to suggest. There is no good outward facing carrier.

Re: Best forward facing baby carrier?
Becco Gemini, LOVE this carrier for baby and me. Used it forward facing from about 3-6 months when my DS was really interested in looking. Also used both the normal front carry facing in and as a backpack. After 6 months DS just got too big to face forward (it will put to much strain on your back no matter what carrier you use) and was happier being in the backpack style carry or facing inward. It is suppose to be more ergonomically correct for baby then the bjorn. HTH!

The BEcco Gemini is the only ssc that is ok for forward carries and offers support. You could also with the moby and Baby K'Tan depending on age and weight.

I can't say whether it's best, but we like the Britax carrier. DD loved shopping in it. It didn't hurt my back. Supposedly the infant insert keeps the legs up in the correct position.

Re: Best forward facing baby carrier?
I used a Bjorn with my DD before I ever heard that they weren't good, and she loved facing outward and had no problems. She was older 7-8 months when I let face out.
I bought an Ergo for DS due in March, but I also googled Bjorns to see if they really were bad, and found conflicting research/studies. So IMO, it's fine to use it and face out sometimes.
