Maroni's would be my top pick
Tasting menu, unique dishes, unlimited wine, great atmosphere, very attentive service

Top pick.... Kitchen A Trattoria hands down. Homey Italian food all from scratch awesome staff food had never disappointed once.
Eta: they make really unique dishes that you never see anywhere else and their menu is always changing with a few staples. Their lasagna is out of this world!

I have 5 that I love. Ruth Chris - their porterhouse for 2 is amazing. Gemelli's I haven't been there in a while but the food is delicious. Mannino's great Italian food. Nonnina's another fantastic Italian food. Butera's great for family style.

I second Prime. Porto Vivo in Huntington village is good also.
Blue Restaurant in Bluepoint is nice for a night out.

Aperitif in RVC

I agree DH took me there for our anniversary. I love the atmosphere and the food was soooo amazing. The gnocchi appetizer is making my mouth water as I am thinking about it.

Harvest on Fort Pond, Best on LI, hands down.
This is my all-time favorite restaurant. The food is amazing, fresh, its unpretentious, overlooks Fort Pond in Mtk. If you go here, you must order a pizza (brick oven) the seafood bruschetta and the fresh fruit ice cream sandwich for dessert. It's all family-style.
Close second for me is Waterzooi. The Fifth Season is up there.
ETA: Brasserie 214 at the Inn at NHP, really delish

The North Fork Table - AMAZING food!! They have the tasting menu option, or a regular menu if you're not into that.
Mosaic - I've been there a lot and have NEVER had a bad meal. Food is amazing and the service is fantastic. Love them!! It's a tasting menu only though....and not everyone is open to that.

I love Comtesse Therese Bistro in Aquebog. They even make their own wine. The cheese platter is to die for, it come with super think chunks of bacon  :lovesick
