Best piece of equipment to have at home?

Best piece of equipment to have at home?
After the baby is here, I really want to lose about 40 lbs...I was never a skinny minny, and I just want to be healthy so I can be around for my little one. I have been working on eating better, and so far so good.
My question is what should I buy for at home use, I know going to the gym with a new baby at home just wont happen, we have an empty room at home, I was thinking of an elliptical, but not sure if thats good for overall weightloss. Any advice is greatly appreciated

The elliptical is a great thing to have. Anything that can be used to do cardio will be great. We have both a treadmill & an elliptical. You can get some free weights to get some tone back too...

I've had a treadmill for 8 years now and its still running great and I use it quite often.

This is exactly what I have at home. Plus I throw in some work out DVDs too like Billy Blanks.
