Best place for apple picking
Where is the best place to go apple picking? I'd love somewhere that had other things too, not really sure what but just so we're not picking apples and then leaving, kwim?
TIA!

Re: Best place for apple picking
We like to go out east to Lewin's farm. There are plenty of vineyards in the area if you like wine tasting. There are also cute farmstands along the way. We like to pick up a pie or 2 at Briermere's, which is also nearby.

Upstate is Masker's Orchard. They have other stuff that goes on there. The best thing is you can drive through the orchard and park where ever you like! There is also stuff to do in the surrounding area.

Re: Best place for apple picking
We went to Lewins yesterday and it was so sad because they had so few apples... I usually go a few times in the fall and I am not sure it is worth trying to go back.

We've done Seven Ponds Orchard in Water Mill. I drove past there today and some people were out picking. The trees look ready at Hank's (Pumpkintown) too.

Applewood? That's where we go every year. DH has been going there since he was young.
I love it there. Jon and Michelle (the owners) are so incredibly sweet. Definately worth the trip. Their winery is great too. We get delivaries every quarter.

This is my FAV spot to go -- they have other things to pick and have a corn maze and such.

Could it be that it is too early?

Re: Best place for apple picking
There is also a lavendar farm there that I like to stop at in Riverhead. They sell some really cute things but I can't for the life of me remember the name! It is past Briermere Farm's, which you should also definitely stop and buy a pie (or 3 or 4 if you're like me, LOL!).
