Best Places to Go Pumpkin Picking?
This will be our daugher's first Halloween and we want to go pumpkin picking. Where's the best place to go?
How is Schmitt's and White Post Farms?

I havent been to either, but i keep hearing great things about white post farms.. thats where im taking my dd this year for the first time.. so excitted.

White Post Farms isn't really pumpkin picking. The pumpkins are already picked and laid out in a field- so you just pick the pumpkin you want.
We went to Harbes Farm and you actually cut the pumpkins off the vine.

Not sure where you're located, but there are several good places along 25 in Calverton.
Also the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank does a Pumpkin Fest every year...they have a field you can go in to pick pumpkins..It's October 4th and 5th...

We went to Harbes Farm and you actually cut the pumpkins off the vine.
I didn't know people really PICKED pumpkins off the vine. I guess I've never really gone pumpkin picking in my life! 
That said  , we went to White Post Farms last year and it was great! I'm looking forward to it even more this year now that DD will have a clue what's going on!

Last year we went to Schmitts and loved it. You can either walk out to the pumpkins or take a ride on the hay ride. The pumpkins are out in the field but it is still fun!

LOVE Harbes! They have the best corn too. We'll probably go there again this year or to Benner's. I'm not a fan of picking the already picked pumpkins from a field

we went to windy acres on 25 and enjoyed it.
They also have a farm stand and little play areas for the kids.

I believe we went to one of the Harbes locations last year. It was really nice. The only bad thing is when we went it was super hot and the ground so dry - we were all sweaty and dusty we couldnt really enjoy it due to the 90+ degree weather in Oct

We must of gone the same day because that is how it was last year.
I was so upset because DS was soo hot and lethargic. We couldnt enjoy ourselves I had to rush back to the car and put the AC on before we passed out. Maybe I will see you this year and we will have better luck

We goto Colonial Springs Farms, its not very crowded, they give you a wagon to get your pumpkins & then they have a corn maze & a whole kiddie area/playground.
