Best spot for infant car seat
I put my car seat behind the passenger seat. Am I better off putting it in the middle? What's the general rule of thumb?

Best spot for infant car seat
Middle is safest in most cars, but many cars have features that prevent the middle from being safest. My husband's car has a slight hump in the middle seat, which would make it impossible for the infant seat to lay flat against the seat. Check your car's manual.

I had mine behind the passenger seat. It is now behind me because I bring a child to school and she needs to be let out on the pax side. I can't put it in the middle bc there is a hump. Not to mention there is no latch system in the middle.

Oh I don't have the latch system anyway. My car is a bit older. I'll have to see if it bumps up in the middle or what...

Definitely check your manual. Mine said not to put it in the middle, and suggested passenger side

It depends on the vehicle and where it will fit properly. In my car it is in the middle but in DH's it's behind the passenger seat.

Before I had my first child ( 3 years ago) I had a safety inspection done in Mineola by the Nassau County Traffic Safety Board and was told that the middle is NOT safe. It should be behind either the driver or passenger seat.

mine is behind the passenger seat. i had the base in the middle at first, but it was too hard for me to climb in and get the car seat (i have an SUV)...so i moved it to the passenger side and makes it 100x more easier.. i didn't even realize the passenger side was more safe!
