Re: Best way to freeze meatballs?

do you mean in sauce or by themselves?

When I make sauce & meatballs (also pork & sausage..) I freeze half of it in a container and make sure to use it within a few months.

Everything else I freeze (like meat, breads and desserts, whatever..) I always double wrap everything. ie: 2 ziplocs, or plastic wrapped then put in a ziploc or bagged, then put in container, etc..

I feel like the outside bag always gets that freezer smell, but when I double bag and squeeze all air out.. it is always fine inside Chat Icon

Re: Best way to freeze meatballs?

yea I agree- I double zip locked a bunch of meatballs and they came out great- I didnt have them in any sauce because I thought it would be annoying to defrost them and this way I could take one or two out here and tehre

Also, I think it depends on where you put it in the freezer. Avoid the door - put things you will use quickly there. If you want to freeze for a while, put it all the way in the back of the freezer and pack it in there.

Freezers work best when they are full and I think (based on no real evidence other than my own freezer) that this helps prevent burn.
