Beta numbers?
I've seen a few posts on here today about getting beta #s back. I just went for my first bloodwork, and my first sono appt is next week (1 day before start of 7th week). Do they call you with your beta #s when the Dr. office gets them back, or do you get them automatically when you go for the next appt?
TIA

Re: Beta numbers?
I saw a few posts too so I called my doctor's office to find out. My number was 303 at 4 wks. Which really does mean anything to me. I am not sure what I am supposed to be at 4.5 weeks.
Since I saw a few girls going for a second blood test to check if the number was higher/doubled, I called them and asked if I should do that. They told me that I did not need to unless I was bleeding/spotting. They will check it again when I go for my sono at 8.5 weeks.

Re: Beta numbers?
i called my dr the the day after i took both my blood test (i did one, and then another 48 hours later), they didnt call me with it. The secretary even said to me, oh i put it on the dr desk this morning and everythings fine, the numbers is great, blah blah, and i'm like well if it was sitting on her desk, why didnt she call me, whatever, i guess different offices have difernt procedures Good luck!!

Hmm, think maybe I'll wait until my appointment w/the Dr. next week. I would assume he would tell me, no?
I agree, I would have no clue what # is good either.
How long until you go for your first sono? I think your Due date is 1 week after mine, but I go next week (like I said, 1 day before start of 7th week), and some think that may be too early to see heartbeat. Hope not!!

Re: Beta numbers?
I never asked nor got them with my DD and haven't been back to the doctor since my bloodwork this time. I don't think it's standard procedure to get this info, unless maybe there was a problem

I've never asked or been told what my beta numbers were.

Re: Beta numbers?
Hmm...Unless theres a reason, are you sure they took your beta? At 6 weeks they typically dont. Betas are used to judge a pg at like 4 weeks....

Re: Beta numbers?
I just posted this on the other thread too:
Remember that there are quite a few of us newbies who used IVF or IUI and were under the care of a Fertility Clinic.
We have a lot more ultrasounds and blood tests than a "normal" pregnancy would in the beginning because of how we conceived. So don't worry if your situation doesn't match some others here.
Here's a site that goes over normal ranges of hcg:

Re: Beta numbers?
I was wondering about these numbers too, although I don't go for my first appt until 8 weeks (nov. 22).

I kinda agree, those numbers seem very low to me. I was 792 at my first blood test (4w+) and 18,000 at 6w3d.
