Beta question Updated
I had my blood drawn on Monday and then again today. I got a BFP on 12/18 so I'm probably 6.5 weeks. My beta on Monday was 5,865. My beta today is 7,552. It was 40 hours later, but not even close to doubling and the number seems really low for 6-7 weeks. I've been bleeding when I go to the bathroom, but not really anything on a pad. I don't have as much cramping today as I did yesterday. I'm completely assuming the worst and really don't have any hope at this point, but I was wondering if anyone went through something similar. I have an ultrasound tomorrow and repeat blood work on Friday.
If your numbers went up, but you still miscarried, how long did it take? Did you miscarry naturally or need intervention?
Update:
I had a sono today and it confirmed that the pregnancy isn't viable. I knew deep down that it wasn't going to work out probably since I first tested and the line was lighter than I expected it to be. I was still holding out hope though so the confirmation was pretty devastating. I've decided to get a D&C as I don't want this to drag on. I'm just waiting to hear back about when it will be scheduled. Thanks for answering all of my questions. I hope to be back on this board again soon.

Re: Beta question
When you get farther along in your pregnancy, the beta doubling time becomes longer. So you really shouldn't expect it to double in 48 hours at 6.5 weeks. Your numbers, in and of themselves, look good. At 6.5 weeks they can do a sono. You should be able to even see a heartbeat around now, too. I'd press for a sono.
ETA: What were your progesterone numbers? I'd be more concerned about that if you're cramping and spotting.

I didn't even think to ask about those numbers. I have a sono tomorrow.

Beta question
At 6.5 weeks the betas won't double and don't really tell you much anymore. A sono will give you the accurate info needed.

Beta question
At this point a sono will give you more answers than a beta. I will say that your betas sound fine and it's good they are rising. As the PP said they no longer double once you get to a certain point. Make sure they check your progesterone level. That's a very common cause of spotting and pretty easily fixable.
