BF baby poop question
What does a green mucus poop mean? He has had them off and on since yesterday.

Re: BF baby poop question
it could mean that he is allergic or just irritated by something you ate, some possibilities are chocolate, coffee, dairy

Re: BF baby poop question
I was told by a lactation consultant that it was because my little guy was drinking too much formilk (the milk that comes out first) and not enough of the hind (the milk that is at the end). If it is that try keeping your little guy on one side for a longer period of time. My little guy only takes one side at a feeding nd hes hasnt had the green poops since. Let me kow if this makes sense.

Re: BF baby poop question
thanks all! Its weird, he will be 5 weeks tomorrow, and this is happening out of the blue. I think I am going to have him do 2 feedings on same side before switching to other(thanks for the hindmilk advice)
I feel like I have such a surplus of milk. It hasn't slowed down at all. Does it help if I pump out foremilk before he feeds?

I had the same issue, i had an oversupply, made worse by i didn't leak.
I had the same issue with baby not getting enough hind milk and poos were really green consistently.
You can either hand express some milk, or pump a little out before baby latches. My LC also told me, that usually if you have an oversupply, too much could come out fast for baby. Does the baby pull away or choke off sometimes? If so, try to feed on an incline, it's weird at first, but put some pillows behind your back and lay back, instead of sitting up feeding. Your milk is against gravity. It will take a couple weeks, but your flow will slow

Re: BF baby poop question
wow great advice!
thanks..I finally realized the other day that if he isn't sucking its because the milk is just flowing, where I thought he had had enough already. He chokes almost every feeding.
