BF Moms - baby biting with new teeth
When she is done, she bites. I tried screaming NO, but now I feel like I am tensing up so much during each nursing session in anticipation of a bite (kind of like wincing b/4 a shot).
Any recommendations from BTDT bit Mom's????

He has only did this once to me and it was last week. He hasn't done it since, but I felt so bad I actually screamed and scared him. It was a natural reaction and it hurt!!!
I am so hoping he doesn't do it again.

Re: BF Moms - baby biting with new teeth
Charlotte was doing this when her first 2 teeth cut...and it lasted for about 5 days. I did the yelp - which made her curl her bottom lip and tear up, but didn't deter her from biting. What worked for us was once she bit down I would sternly say no, pull her off (pry her mouth open) and cover up. Once she realized that she had to stop in order to get what she really wanted, she stopped biting.
She's working on her 7th & 8th teeth and we haven't had any incidences since that first week.

Re: BF Moms - baby biting with new teeth
DD bit me a couple of times but one time DD got me so bad I actually bled and had a cut It hurt to nurse and pump for a couple of days. I can remember nursing her and having that tense feeling you are describing. I would just really watch her while she nursed and as she was close to done, I would remove her (since she had bitten me each time at the end). After a couple of days I finally started to relax again. GL!

This worked for me as well, if he bit, we were done nursing---it only happened a few times when DS cut his first teeth, now he has 10 teeth and doesn't bite me at all. GL

Re: BF Moms - baby biting with new teeth
Thank goodness the 2 bottom teeth cut first so I don't actually have any experience.
But, should this happen. I plan on using the same attack when he started to get distracted all the time at nursing. Put it away until next time!

Re: BF Moms - baby biting with new teeth
When DS1 was 9mo, he bit me so hard that he drew blood. He had a full mouth of teeth too so he certainly knew what he was doing. Needless to say, he was weaned immediately. DS2 is now 5 1/2 months and has no teeth yet.
Sorry, I wish I had some advice for you.
