BFing and antibiotic Q
I have this VERY bad infection my big toe and finally HAD TO go the dr. this morning. Who looked at me ... really mad and told me that I had to go to the Podiatrist.
In short... I got a local anesthesia, toe nail removed, etc... fun stuff right before the weekend.
I have to take an antibiotic and dump my milk. 
I read that your milk supply could be affected.
Is that true?

I think it depends on the antibiotic. I was on an antibiotic for a clogged milk duct & my dr. told me I could continue nursing/pumping.

Same here. I'd call the PEd, they should have a book that lists drugs okay for bf'ing, they could prob give you it's class.

I had to pump and dump for a week while I was on an antibiotic. My supply was not affected, but I did need to pump every three hours (day and night).
There are antibiotics that are considered safe for breastfeeding, but I think it depends on what you and your pedi are comfortable with.

I am on Keflex and my OB told me I could go ahead and keep nursing....I guess it depends on the antibiotic

That's the one I am on now. I know I can BF with it. I just dumped my milk for 24 hours due to the local anesthesia they used.
I was wondering if it would affect my milk supply.
