BFing on demand, please tell me your schedule

ive just recently starting feeding my d on demand,,shes been gaining weight fine and is 12 weeks old now..but she is alil on the small side for her age..
im alittle worried, because i feel like for the most part, she would go 4-5 hours during the daytime without eating if i let her..i usually dont let her go too much longer then 3 1/2 -4 hours, and she gives me 7-8 hours a nite..
i just get this feeling that shes not eating enough...she used to cluster feed, so i was nursing alot so maybe now shes just getting fuller? Shes making wet and dirty diapers regularly so i dunno if i should be worried..her 3 month check up is next week so i just wanted to see if this was normal..

wakes up and i nurse at 630am
then again at 930 (only because i nurse her to nap)
then shell go from that time till like 130-2 and even alil longer if i would let her, but i usually dont and feed her again at that time..is this too long??
then again at 6 (only if shes awake otherwise 7) then i supplement with a 6 oz bottle of formula at 830-9.

does this seem ok in the daytime???
btw, im ONLY feeding her when i feel like i should, i dont ever feel like shes starving except for the morning and late afternoon/evening

That schedule sounds just fine. Try not to worry about whether or not DD is getting enough. As long as she has wet and dirty diapers and is consistently gaining, she's fine.

As for being on the small side- as long as your PED isn't concerned, neither should you. As an example- my first DD, Madelyn has always been tall and lean. Currently she is 50th percentile for height, and 10th percentile for weight- and has been for the most part since she was born. My second DD Eliza is a moose and is in the 95th percentile for everything. Right now Eliza weighs 17 pounds at 5 months, and Mads is 23 pounds and 22 months!

i was hoping you would answer me porrruss!! now lemme ask you, she only nurses for like 5-7 minutes on one side, then about 4-5 on the other..is that 9-12 minutes enough?!!? could she really be getting enough to sustain her in that time?? My dh thinks i stop too soon, but usually after this amt of time, she starts "playing" with me, like sucking, and then pulling off, and then sucking on me and pulling off again..over and over..this means shes not too interested, no?? if she was still hungry, shed let me know, right??

ABSOLUTELY! You've been blessed with a very efficient nurser- especially if she's able to go a few hours between feedings. I swore there must be something wrong with Madelyn because she would literally nurse for 5 minutes TOPS on just one side and be done. But- she seemed satisfied and had plenty of wet and poopy dipes, so obviously she was getting enough.

If she's not staying latched- then she's likely done. If you're really concerned, once she pulls off, maybe just burp her and talk to her for a few minutes, then try to relatch. She'll let you know if she wants more.

It sounds like you're doing really well at BFing- be proud of yourself!!!
