BFN and feeling like AF is coming...
This is our first month TTC. I have been testing for a few days and getting BFN with each one. I feel all my normal symptoms of AF, which I will probably get today or tomorrow. I am bumming a little because I felt like I did everything right. I went full force with this. I bought the CBEFM - got a 2 high days and 2 peak days. We BD that whole week around O. I have been charting and my temps seem to be "classic" and I usually have a 28 day cycle. I guess I am just scared because I am 38 years old and feel like I may be starting this journey too late. I hope not.
I also feel that I may have gotten too obsessed with it all. It was all I thought about all month. It was like my whole life was put on hold. Does anyone feel like that? If it is going to be a long time before I get my BFP, I really have to change my thinking - or life is just going to pass me by. When I get AF I am going to TRY and live my life like I did before - getting back to the gym is something I really need to do. I gave it up all month - thinking I don't want to hurt my chances. At this rate though, I am just going to gain a ton of weight! LOL
I just needed to get this all out- a little venting. If anyone can understand it is the great girls on this site going through the same thing!

Re: BFN and feeling like AF is coming...
Im so sorry. But know that you are not alone. We've all been there and some still are. I know my first month I was just like you. It took over my life. Then I realized I was miss out of my life.. my marriage..my friendships. I was wishing the days away and only concentrating on this!!! You do have to get to a point and enjoy your life while TTC. It's the only way to get through it!!
Good luck on your journey and we are all here to help!!

So sorry But you should not give up hope. Many 38 year old women have very healthy babies! The way you feel is so normal for a first month TTC'er-you kind of fall into the pattern after that. You sound like you are on top of everything. What I would do is call the OB and schedule a prenatal consult if you have any concerns. Remember, you only have a 25% chance each cycle of getting pregnant, so not doing it on the first shot does not make you abnormal. And I like your idea of keeping your mind diverse and getting into things you like. But don't get your hopes down-just do what you are doing!

Don't give up hope, anything can happen. Have you seen your Ob/Gyn? They will be able to give you advice as to what course of action you should take. Good Luck
