Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique- 3 year old SHORT hair

My DD, who will not quite be 3 yet (telling them she's 3 and praying/hoping for the best), is going to do BBB when we go in Feb to Disney. She has curly hair that is shoulder length when wet, but very short when dry. Do you think they can pull that all up into the high bun without strays everywhere? We are going on night 1, but would like to try and get it to last at least for the next day and not fall out

If it's shoulder length when wet, they will be able to pull it up. It will fall out before the next day though. They used to use super stiff gel, but they moved to more "kid friendly" products, and the regular bun doesn't even stay in great. My daughter has very thick hair, and I always have to reinforce the style with tons of my own hairspray now. Before, you could get DAYS out of that style. It was SO stiff and we much preferred it that way! They also now use the bun makers (not the ponytail into a few mini ponytail style), so that makes it not as tight either IMO.

Also, they will know your child is not 3 based on her information in your Disney account. So it probably won't work anyway. If you are turned away because of age, I think you still lose your money for not cancelling in their allotted time, so I would double check on that.

My TA set it up and had a work around- she told them there was no existing reservation and said she was 3.

Bargainmama- have you been to the one in Disney Springs? We're going right before the Halloween party. I hope it doesn't run late because I don't want to miss any of the party. It was the best I could find short notice bc I need two appointments. I've been meaning to call and check for cancellations,.

If she’s 3 then she needs a park ticket, which she will not have bc she’s not actually 3.

right, but i'm doing the one in disney springs so we won't need a park ticket for that so they wouldn't know... according to my TA, they can't see whether we have purchased park tickets or not because we made a reservation without linking any info

fingers crossed :)

Also, keep in mind when you go through the turnstiles your daughter doesn't have a ticket, since she is under 3 and free. So if she is all done up in her BBB stuff, they will know she is "three"...and MIGHT question you about it, so then your answer to that if they question it will be , no no, I bought all the stuff and did it myself (they sell it in the shops). FYI: Disney considers a child the age s/he is when a trip begins. Let’s say you arrive on Monday and your kid turns 3 on Thursday, the child is considered 2 for the duration the trip and doesn’t need park tickets during the entire vacation.

It's at 3:05. I was told the appointment lasts 30 minutes and add another 30 minutes if they buy a costume. (Not sure if I'm getting the costume. They want one, but we have so many already).

That's pushing it..I personally like to be at the turnstile by 3:30 for the parties since you are paying a lot for it! I would see if you can get an earlier time to be honest. Then you have to factor in transportation time, you probably wouldn't get to the party until well after 5pm

Ugh, I know it's not ideal. Our only other option for two was Friday at the castle during the Halloween party and I don't think we're going to the party that day anyway, but we would need tickets for it. It's my fault bc I do everything late, lol. I don't have fast passes for mine train or the new toy story rides either. I'm considering the early morning magic, but we'll be up late most nights for Halloween party or fireworks. Last year, even though we headed to the parks late every day (got there around lunch), my DD2 was still falling asleep in the stroller at the Christmas party. I really want to do the Halloween party, but next time we do Disney, I think we'll go when they don't have these ticketed events.

I would just keep calling because people do cancel! Even try for the castle for 4 p.m. that way you're already in the park! I just booked a last minute long weekend trip for next month and there were no fast passes for anything good! We are going for the Christmas party and figured we would do Hollywood Studios to see Toy Story Land also.

I'm bringing our own dress, so hopefully she doesn't get questioned, but that's a good idea to say that to them at the gate if I get questioned!

I went to Disney Springs and loved it. It’s enough entertainment for a full day! Our appointment took well over an hour without buying a dress (we wore ours). It was running just a bit late too. It was quite an interaction and we loved the fairy godmother! We did ice cream after and it was great. We did totally miss our dinner reservations because it really took much longer than the 30-45 minutes we were expecting!

Although you could do it with a 3 year old... I personally wouldn’t. So much of it is high conversation... my 3 year old wouldn’t get it and she doesn’t love people brushing her hair. I wouldn’t put much on 3 vs 2 years old. The little kids just had less done.

Plus, the parties allow you admission early (4PM). I’d be at the ropes then to get the most of your experience.

Not bargainmama, but we went to the Disney springs one 2 years ago. We got in on time, but I would say we were there 45 mins at least. They got dressed there ((we brought our own)), hair/makeup and nails, and then they do a couple minute thing for them and then you take pictures.

I just wanted to let you know that there were NO fastpasses for Toy Story for my trip next month, and I just logged on to check and one came up for swirling saucers! So check all the time! Also, check with the number of people that will actually go on it (I won't go on it, I'll get sick, so I just put in for 2, instead of 3)

That's great! I'll keep checking. I just figured out that the early morning magic can be cancelled, so I bought it in case we want it.
