Whips or reins, whatever, they were still rounding up people with horses and grabbing them. That is clearly seen. They were treated in a dehumanized way.
Anyone can see that. There is no media manipulation with that.
And how do you propose they navigate the terrain? A hoverboard?
You know what could have helped? A wall.
I didn’t propose anything. What is your problem? I commented on the photos that were taken.
A wall won’t work. They have been trying to build a wall for years. Not working. Walls throughout history didn’t work. People can get over them and still get asylum.
Maybe you should go take your hoverboard and leave the US since you don’t like immigrants it seems. [/QUOTE
My problem is you’re furthering a narrative that what the Border Patrol is doing is inhumane. If you believe that’s the case then what is your actual proposal? Allow thousands of people to cross unprocessed? Potentially let these humans die on the southwest border due to lack of water/healthcare/exposure? That seems pretty inhumane to me.
And no, I don’t dislike immigrants-that’s patently ridiculous. I also acknowledge that our country has laws to protect its citizens. You’ve only mentioned one hundred million times you live in Germany. Did you just get on a plane and go? Dollars to donuts you renew your visa when the time comes (or whatever documentation you require to live there legally). If borders and laws don’t mean anything to you then why don’t you fly by the balls and just go undocumented? You’re a hypocrite.

I’m not a hypocrite at all. I could go undocumented, but that doesn’t really work here because the government processes everyone. I only renew my residency when I get a new US passport. I did everything by the book and when I first came here, I came here with a grant from the government along with my student visa.
That being said, I am not an asylum seeker. You can’t really compare my situation to asylum seekers. It’s a completely different situation. We have many immigrants from Syria and Afghanistan here. They were processed correctly and received housing, education, and integration services. They weren’t rounded up by horses and grabbed. Big difference.

You are proving the whole point. You can through legally. The immigrants you are talking about came through legally. They are all documented and processed. What everyone else is talking about is people coming across illegally. There are plenty ways to come into the country legally and when you do, you are processed just like what you say Germany is doing. A country just can't let hundreds and thousands of people just wander into the country and not do anything.

Asylum seekers come into this county. They are taken in and given an education, and I think their costs are covered under a certain program.
They sure as hell aren’t treated (AFAIK) by being rounded up and grabbed, which seems to be the case in the US.
Other countries, like the US, have similar problems. Look into Australia and how they treat their migrants. It isn’t pretty.
I’m not proving anything. I wasn’t an asylum seeker. Just stop; there is no comparison.

I agree. There is no comparison. You came into Germany legally and followed the correct procedures. These people did not. You were the one that brought up what you did. Both of my children are immigrants that were living in dismal and one almost fatal situations. I did months of paperwork to bring them here. Then did months of paperwork once they were here. Do it legally and there won't be an issue.

You do realize the Haitians crossing the border from Mexico were already granted asylum in Mexico right? When someone requests asylum it's usually because their lives are in danger due to persecution they face in their country. The Haitians entering from Mexico obviously already left Haiti and were no longer in danger from persecution in their country so explain to me how them crossing the border is seeking asylum when they already had it??

First off, I wasn’t the one who brought up the topic (in response to Karen); Romey was with her nasty reply of a hover board or some shit.
Last I checked, seeking asylum is done in many different countries, not just the first country they reach. You expect them to just stay in Mexico? That’s really simplistic. It doesn’t work that way and it never did. Open your eyes.

What’s really simplistic is your belief that the the economic and social systems in the United States can support an unending stream of individuals. Also, your belief that these illegal border crossings are victimless crimes is rather daft.

I never said any of what you are saying. Stop putting words in my mouth. I said, “rounding up people with horses and grabbing them is inhumane.”
What is your problem? I’m not the daft one here.

I’m not proving anything. I had money to do these things. Just stop with your assumptions. There is no reason to round people up with horses and grab them. And then other talk on this thread about how a wall is better. It isn’t. “Give me your tired and give me your poor” seems yo mean round ‘em up in the US.

You should go and rescue all those people, especially the kids, take them in your home. Are you willing to do that? Willing to pay for their education while they come in illegally? That is what you are doing with your AMERICAN tax dollars.

My problem is that you are calling out behavior of our law enforcement as inhumane when it’s not. When I asked you for an actual solution to undocumented people running across miles and miles of open border you had no answer. It’s bothersome to me when people who took an oath to protect our nation and its borders are attacked for doing their job under challenging conditions.

Exactly.
Let's not act like drugs, rape, child abuse, sex trafficking and God knows what else happens as part of illegal migration. Those things absolutely exist but people rather bury their heads in the sand on those issues. They much rather be media robots and cry outrage at border patrol agents doing their job. I mean common sense - when cops try to control a crowd it's usually because they are unruly or doing something illegal...OPEN YOUR EYES.

Open my eyes? To what? Watching people being grabbed and rounded up with horses?
I’m not a media robot and my world view is probably a lot more open than you think.
Call me crazy, but I don’t think any human being should be rounded up and grabbed. And you can’t claim asylum unless you are at a port of entry or in the country.
Seeking asylum is not a crime, nor is it illegal. It is a basic human right. OPEN *YOUR* EYES!
